In the heart of Aotearoa, I, a proud Māori, embarked on a journey fueled by a deep connection to my heritage and a burning ambition to succeed as a business entrepreneur. Drawing strength from the rich traditions and values of my culture, I set out to carve a path that honoured my roots while paving the way for a prosperous future.
As a Māori, entrepreneurship isn't just about personal success—it's about uplifting my community and preserving our cultural identity in a rapidly changing world. With this in mind, I saw business contracting as a powerful tool to achieve my goals while staying true to my roots.
Embracing the teachings of Kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and Whanaungatanga (community), I approach each contract with a spirit of collaboration and mutual respect. Whether it's working with fellow Māori entrepreneurs or engaging with businesses from diverse backgrounds, I seek to foster meaningful connections and build bridges that span cultural divides.
Through Business Administration, Office Management, and Bookkeeping, I have found a way to weave the principles of Manaakitanga (hospitality) and Rangatiratanga (leadership) into my work, creating spaces where innovation thrives, and success is shared.
As I navigate the world of business contracting, I expect to encounter challenges that will test my resolve and resilience. But with every obstacle, I aim to draw strength from the wisdom of my ancestors and the unwavering support of my community. Together, we will face adversity head-on, turning setbacks into opportunities for growth and learning.
Along the way, I embrace the concept of Whakapapa (genealogy), recognising that my journey is built on the shoulders of those who came before me. With each contract, I will honour the legacy of my ancestors, striving to leave a lasting impact that will pave the way for future generations of Māori entrepreneurs.
Today, as I stand on the threshold of success, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude for the journey that has brought me here. Through business contracting, I have not only realised my dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur but have also forged a path that honours my heritage and empowers my community to thrive in an ever-changing world. And as I look to the future, I am filled with hope and excitement for the possibilities that lie ahead, knowing that with courage, determination, and Aroha (love), anything is possible.
